Nursing Care

The nursing staff consists of Registered Personnel, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Continuing Care Assistants.

Care of residents is planned on an individual basis by a multi-disciplinary team taking into consideration personal preferences and lifestyle. The team will focus on physical needs as well as social, spiritual, and psychological needs. Residents will have their own family physician.

 
Hairdresser / Barber
The hairdresser is available five days a week. Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday) she is in the main building and Thursday, Friday she is in Cara House.
 
Physiotheraphy Services
A Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist are on duty eight hours a day, Monday to Friday. Two full-time Physio Assistants work under the direction of our Physiotherapist. All new admissions are assessed by our Physiotherapist.
 
Social Work
The purpose of the Social Work Department is to facilitate the successful placement and adjustment of residents and their families to the Home and address daily concerns as they arise.
 
Housekeeping and Laundry Services
All rooms and personal laundry are attended to on a daily basis.
 
Dietary Services
All meals are prepared on site and in between meals nourishments are provided. Meal requirements and special dietary needs are under the advisory of a Registered Dietitian.
 
Recreation
We have a very active recreation department which meets the needs of all residents. Activities are individually accessed which may include such activities as: bingo, music entertainment, paint classes, reading program, exercise, scrapbooking, therapeutic pet visits, menís group and bus outings. We have a large number of volunteers who help us provide the residents with our many activities.
 
Resident Council
Meetings are held once a month and residents are invited to become actively involved, to address any concerns or problems they may have.
 
Religous Services
Church services (mass) are held on Wednesday afternoon and other services are held on Thursday afternoon. The Spiritual needs of the residents are a concern on a daily basis and programs are designed to meet those needs.
 
Family Council
Meetings are held once a month and family & friends of residents are encouraged to attend all meetings.
